Fish Tail Braid

I don't know if you can tell yet but, I love braids. They are so much fun to do and they are so easy. They are also really in style right now. I also did my first video tutorial!!!! It was a lot harder then I thought it would be. Here is the fish tail braid

Day 5, Braided head band

Braided head band

I have been trying for a long time to figure out the best way to get this style. I finally did it!! I was so excited.

First I made the braids, small ones, right above my ears, 2 on each side. Then I pulled the rest of my hair up in a tight pony tail. I made a fun bun, you can really do any kind of bun. Then I pulled the braids over the top of my head to the other side. Crossing them and pinning them in place.

Day 4- Easy curls

Easy Curls

Last night I washed and dried my hair. Fully dried my hair. Then I put it in these loose twisted buns.

 (This is the way it looked in the morning)

Then I took them out ran my fingers through them and fixed some of the curls that were a little fuzzy or just didn't look right. I just used my straightener, I love using the straightener for curls b/c they are more loose and faster to do. I added some closer to the top and sprayed it with flexible hair spray. This picture is at the end of the day so the curls have loosed up a little bit but not much.

I love this style b/c it takes about 5 mins in the morning, and it looks great all day long. I get great curls with out taking all the time to do them. I am not a huge fan of massive hair and when you have a lot of hair curls make it too massive, so I don't like to have to many curls close to the top. This way it makes it look more beachie. I don't have to fuss with it and I am ready all day long. Its something I love to do when I know I have a big day the next day and not a lot of time on my hands,

Day 3, Maiden Braids

Maiden Braids.

These are one of the easiest things you can do. If you can put your hair in pig tail braids then you can do the Maiden Braids.

 After you put your hair in pig tail braids, you go one step further. Just pin them up around the top of your head. Hide the ends of the one braid underneath the other braid.

Day 2

Hippie Chic

We have church really early in the morning, so I don't want to spend a lot of time on my hair. This is day 2 of my hair. Meaning I didn't wash it today. Now if you were anything like me then you are saying "I could never do that my, hair gets so greasy." Well today is your lucky day I am going to give you my secret.

Dry Shampoo

What is that? you may be asking. Well its a little miracle in a bottle. My hair is super greasy every morning no matter what I do. So I spray this all over my part.

Soon I will show all the placements I do it on.

It turns my hair from greasy to clean and gives a little bit of body.

 This style is super easy for all types of hair, all lengths. I just do a little bit of teasing in the back, twist the sides, and pin back.

Day 1 of 30 days of hair for the everyday mom

I started my 30 days today.

I am really excited and really scared at the same time.

I have been doing hair for almost 6 years now, and I put my hair in a pony tail 5 out of 7 days of the week.

That isn't very good.

So I am challenging myself to switch it up a little bit.

So today I just did it straight.

I wanted you to see what my hair looks like. Its really long, super thick, and I have a million layers.

I use a lot of products because I have really frizzy hair plus it is super important.  

So today I blow dried it and then straighted it. Nothing to exciting but it will soon enough. I have a lot of ideas up my sleeve. I will be doing some tutorials, talking a lot about products, and giving some ideas for the every day mom.

Last day in Utah

We left Utah on a Saturday, but before we left we went up to Salt Lake to visit my grandma, and my 2 aunts. My grandma lives in California so I don't ever get to see her. I think the last time I saw her was over 4 years ago. To long if you ask me.

  Another thing we were able to do while in Salt Lake was go visit my dad. It has been even longer since I was at his grave site. I feel so lucky to have an amazing family who tells me all of these wonderful stories about my dad. This is the first time either of my kids have been able to see him.

 One with the whole family

 My grandma is so very special to me, she is the mother of my dad. She is the reason I am here today. I wish I was able to see her more often, b/c when I am around her I see my dad so clearly.

 With my 2 aunts Marla and Valorie.They are both my dads sisters. They are so wonderful and welcome us with open arms every time we see them. Its like time hasn't ever passed when we get together.

 The mountains are his home, He loved to be in the mountains. My aunt told me he loved it so much b/c he didn't feel so tall in the mountains. Which we was he was 6'8.

I am so grateful that we were able to go out to Utah and spend time with family and loved ones.

I am so grateful for a wonderful husband who deals with all my craziness. 

 I am so grateful for a family that still remembers all about my dad and that they still tell me new stories about him.

I am so grateful that I have the knowledge that I WILL live with my dad again, that I will be able to hold him again.

And I am so grateful for my wonderful children, who right now Bruce is giving my raspberries on my arm and Dylann is singing a song as loudly as she can.  

Utah Trip Thursday

I think Thursday was one of Dylanns favorite days. My in-laws threw Dylann a big Tangled party

She was so excited all day long for all that was going on

For all the decorations, Dylann couldn't wait.

My in-laws went above and beyond for this party it was so amazing.

My kids are going to want a party like this every year and I don't think I can do it.

 Here is the most amazing thing ever. My father-in-law, Ed, made this tower for the party. It was over 8 ft tall. It was so amazing the kids had so much fun playing with it. We wish we could have brought it home with us.

 Here is some of the party. My mother-in-law made these banners that went all around the whole yard.

You can see that it was so windy, so its not the best picture, but it was really amazing.

She also cut out all the suns and hung them all around the yard with lanterns too. But we didn't get a pic of them b/c it was so windy the party had to be moved inside, bummer.

 Just hanging out. Bruce couldn't wait to eat, he kept taking all the food, so we had to feed him right away.

 They also made a 'pin the frying pan on Fin' game, the kids were so funny about it. They all had to do it more then once

 And the big one, She got a new BIKE, She was so excited about it. She wanted to ride it right away. She has loved her bike so much so far. She always want to go out and ride it.

 Her birthday cake which was so cute but, she couldn't eat. So my in-laws got a specail white cake just for her with no dye.

 All the kids in the tower. They all loved it, what a great idea.

 Even Bruce got in on it.

 At the very end we all had balloons, and we let them go like the lanterns in the movie.

 And they are off

After everything it was time for bath. So we got Bruce all done and went to change him. Well he got away from me and grabbed the braid and was strutting around with it. It was so funny I couldn't not post it.

 The party was so amazing, I just wish the weather would have been better. Dylann is still talking about it and wants to go play on the tower all the time. Thank you guys for all the wonderful memories.

Utah trip, Tue-Wed

Tuesday was the main reason we went out to Utah,

Danny was going to baptize his nephew Travon!!!

We were all so excited and couldn't wait for this super special day

 My father-in-law, Travon and Danny right before they got dressed. My father-in-law did the blessing and Danny did the baptism. Travon was so excited, it was so cute, I don't think I have ever seen him more happy. We were all just as happy as he was.

 After the baptism we all went back to the house to have a bbq, here is Bruce getting some love from his daddy b/c he wants all his food.

 Bruce was being so silly, he was trying to get on the bike but some how he got all caught up in it. I couldn't stop laughing, he thought it was pretty fun too.

 One of my best friends from college was able to come, we haven't seen each other in a long time. We were super crazy in college and I think we still are a little crazy.  

 Me and Lindsey, I miss her already!

 My best friend from high school lives in Utah to (we grew up in Ohio together and then she moved out later). She just bought a house and I was in envy. I love how Dylann is posing in the middle

 Andrea and I, all growing up people would think that we were sisters. I don't see it, but one guy kept calling us twins. I don't think he was all with it.

 So Wednesday while I was busy with Andrea, my father-in-law surprised Danny and Travon. He took them to go shoot machine guns. Danny was like a little kid in a candy store.

 Danny wants everyone to know that he only had one shot outside of the target with a machine gun. He is still dreaming about it and he now wishes he can get one.

Couple of more days, I am working on them.
