This year has been so fun for Danny and I, we have been planning on it for a long time. We already have all the shopping done!!! I know we are crazy. We love to put all the Christmas stuff up the Saturday after Thanksgiving and listen to Christmas music while doing it. Well for some reason we couldn't find any of our Christmas Cd's, and as we were looking for them we found the sound tracks for Aladdin and Little Mermaid. So we listened to Aladdin, and Dylann was so excited she kept saying "watchie Jasmin, watchie Jasmin." She sat on the couch in front of the TV for a little while until she realized that the movie wasn't on and it was just the music. She wasn't very happy about that. Once it was time to put the ornaments on the tree, she was so happy again. She loved taking them from me and putting them in the same spot. Until Danny stepped in and took over. He would hold her up and tell her where to put them.

It was just as good, to her. We have been having such a great time with getting ready for Christmas this year.

Every year Danny and I argue about whos year is it to put the star on top. So this year we thought it would be fun for Dylann to do it. She of course wanted to put it on first and couldn't wait, so we had to distract her with the ornaments untill it was time to put it on. She had the biggest smile the whole time, laughing with glee.

We had my mom come over last night so we could go Christmas shopping with out Dylann. If she saw all the toys in the cart she would think she was getting them right away and we just didn't want to have to deal with a fight. We had so much fun, looking for all the things that Dylann is into right now. I find that shopping for your kids is a lot more fun then shopping for your husband (sorry Danny). At least we made a really strict budget about how much we were going to spend this year on her. So strict that we only brought cash and no card with us. Well we got so much stuff that we were surprised with how cheep things can be sometimes. Well I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas. We love you all and miss you.
(I know she is naked in all these pictures, all her cloths were getting washed, sorry)
Hey Meryn, your mom and I each had a paper angel when we were kids and we took turns each year putting ours on the top of the tree. It was world war 3 usually as we could never remember who got it the year before so there were lots of tears. Avoid this problem as best you can. Maybe buy a family tree topper and let Mom (yourself) get the honors..as you are the Christmas Queen of the family. The kids and dad can do the rest and then you fix it all later, ha ha. Dylann reminds me so much of you as a little girl...so sweet!
ReplyDeleteMel is right, we really fought about who's topper made it every year. Her ideas are good ones. Dylann has all the personality you ever had, just a lot more enthusiasm!! Go Doodle!!
